Benefits of Membership

Those eligible for membership within the NAB are:

  • Governing Regulatory boards and agencies responsible for licensure of senior living and health services administrators/executives in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. 
  • Subscribing Former state board members/delegates whose terms on their regulatory boards have expired or past volunteer leaders within the NAB.
  • Organizational Academic Institutions (colleges/universities) and organizations who offer courses of instruction for those looking to become licensed as a senior living and health services administrator/ executive. 
  • International Governmental bodies outside of a state, commonwealth, or territory of the United States of America and the District of Columbia charged with the examining, licensing and/or registration of senior living and health services executives. 
NAB Membership

Each membership type has benefits as unique as the stakeholders it serves. To learn more about your stakeholder group’s member benefit, choose that category below.

  • All active regulatory board members in addition to the state executive employed by the governing board may be an active member in NAB under the organization’s governing membership.
  • Designation of one governing member to serve as a voting delegate on the NAB Board of Governors, which meets, at minimum, during the Annual and Mid-Year Meetings.
  • Reimbursement of fees, in alignment with NAB’s travel policy, for the appointed voting delegate (one attendee reimbursement per meeting maximum for each governing membership) to attend both the Annual and Mid-Year meetings.
  • Member discount on meeting registrations for additional governing members interested in attending the NAB Annual and/or Mid-Year Meetings. 
  • Primary use within your state of all NAB examinations (CORE, NHA, RCAL, HCBS) and/or the first right of refusal should a nonprofit submit a program and request to utilize an exam other than the NHA.
  • Individuals listed as part of the governing membership are eligible to serve as standing committee members, examination item writer, forum conveners, committee vice chairs, and/or committee chairs if appointed by the NAB Chair.
  • Individuals listed as part of the governing membership are eligible to run for and hold one of the three elected executive office positions within the organization (secretary, treasurer, chair-elect). The remaining two officer positions (chair and immediate past chair) are non-elected and are automatically filled (chair elect fills chair and chair fills immediate past chair). 
  • Many resources, such as the National AIT Program Manual and Online Preceptor Leadership Courses, available for use at little or no cost to your board/agency (may not be used for commercial use).
  • Regular communications, through eNewletters and eBlasts, highlighting available NAB tools and resources in addition to hot topics within the regulatory industry. 
  • Subscribing members are eligible to serve as standing committee members (with the exception of the examinations committee/subcommittees), forum conveners, committee vice chairs, and/or committee chairs (with the exception of the examinations committee/subcommittees chair/vice chairs) if appointed by the NAB Chair.
  • Subscribing members are eligible to run for and hold one of the three elected executive office positions within the organization (secretary, treasurer, chair-elect). The remaining two officer positions (chair and immediate past chair) are non-elected and are automatically filled (chair elect fills chair and chair fills immediate past chair).

  • Many resources, such as the National AIT Program Manual and Online Preceptor Leadership Courses, available for use at little or no cost for individual use (may not be used for commercial use)
  • Regular communications, through eNewletters and eBlasts, highlighting available NAB tools and resources in addition to hot topics within the regulatory industry. 
  • Those individuals who receive the Randy L Lindner Distinguished Leadership Award for their significant contributions to the organization will receive a lifetime subscribing membership as part of this award.
  • Organizational members may have one named primary member and one named secondary member under the organization’s membership.
  • Named members (primary and secondary) under the organizational membership are eligible to serve as standing committee members (with the exception of the examinations committee/subcommittees unless approved by the Executive Committee), forum conveners, committee vice chairs, and/or committee chairs (with the exception of the examinations committee/subcommittees chair/vice chairs unless approved by the Executive Committee) if appointed by the NAB Chair.
  • Named members (primary and secondary) under the organizational membership are eligible to run for and hold one of the three elected executive office positions within the organization (secretary, treasurer, chair-elect) unless that have a conflict of interest which prohibits them from doing so. The remaining two officer positions (chair and immediate past chair) are non-elected and are automatically filled (chair elect fills chair and chair fills immediate past chair).
  • Member discounts may be received by named members (primary and secondary) on meeting registrations when attending the NAB Annual and/or Mid-Year Meetings in addition to any other special membership meetings of the organization.
  • Many resources, such as the National AIT Program Manual and Online Preceptor Leadership Courses, available for use at little or no cost for individual use (may not be used for commercial use)
  • Regular communications, through eNewletters and eBlasts, highlighting available NAB tools and resources in addition to hot topics within the regulatory industry. 
  • Dues for Organizational memberships are included in NAB HSE™ Accredited Universities accreditation and annual report fees.
  • International members may have one named primary member and one named secondary member under the organization’s membership.
  • Named members (primary and secondary) under the international membership may participate in all NAB committee meetings and forums (with the exception of the examinations committee/ subcommittees).
  • Named members (primary and secondary) under the international membership are eligible to serve as standing committee members (with the exception of the examinations committee/subcommittees) if appointed by the NAB Chair.
  • Member discounts may be received by named members (primary and secondary) on meeting registrations when attending the NAB Annual and/or Mid-Year Meetings in addition to any other special membership meetings of the organization.
  • Access the NAB Examinations application eligibility and score reporting systems as well as granted authorization for use of all NAB examinations (CORE, NHA, RCAL, HCBS) as applicable.
  • Many resources, such as the National AIT Program Manual and Online Preceptor Leadership Courses, available for use at little or no cost for individual use (may not be used for commercial use)
  • Regular communications, through eNewletters and eBlasts, highlighting available NAB tools and resources in addition to hot topics within the regulatory industry.
